Okay, would-be Greenlight volunteers -- your moment has come! We're working on getting Greenlight ready to open and we could use your help. First order of business: creating bookshelves.
We have a great local Brooklyn artisan creating custom shelves for our unique space. He has cut all the wood pieces to size and is in the process of installing them in the store -- after that they need to be stained and finished. That's where you come in.
Working in shifts, we think a team of volunteers can get a store's worth of bookshelves stained and finished before the week is over. Volunteers will be trained by our staff on the best sanding / staining / finishing methods, and we'll supply rags, brushes, and protective gloves; all you need to bring is your elbow grease. Don't forget to wear work clothes that are okay to get messy.
The volunteer shifts are listed below. We're asking you to sign up for particular shift (or shifts) via email; we'll reply to confirm or let you know when a shift is full.
We're having so much fun working on Greenlight -- we can't wait to have you join us!
